New York Giants History: The Giants were founded in 1925 by businessman Tim Mara. The Giants won their first NFL championship in 1927. Between 1922-146, under head coach Steve Owen, the Giants reached the NFL Championship Game eight times, winning it all in 1934 and 1938. The Giants were again dominant between the years of 1956 and 1963, appearing in six NFL Championship Games, winning it all in 1956. The Giants then failed to reach the playoffs until 1980 and won their first Super Bowl in 1987 (XXI). They won again four years later in Super Bowl XXV over the Buffalo Bills 20-19. The Giants again reached Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 but fell to the Baltimore Ravens. Last year, they bested the then undefeated New England Patriots in an epic win in Super Bowl XLII behind the play of MVP quarterback Eli Manning.
