Warriors entered the 2008-2009 season with arguably one of the most exciting and athletic starting lineups in the league, unfortunately that proved to be insignificant. Warriors star Monta Ellis missed most of the year due to an injury crippling the warriors success. The Golden State Warriors finished the year of with a poor record of 28-51. Led by Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington, the Warriors hope for a better season next time. The Warriors have one of the league's best fan bases so dont miss any of the electric action at Oracle Arena!

Golden State Warriors History: The Warriors franchise was formed as the Philadelphia Warriors in 1946. They won the BAA (soon to become the NBA) in its inaugural 1946-1947 season behind the scoring of Joe Fulks. They would win their second and final championship in Philadelphia in 1956. In 1959, the Warriors drafted Wilt Chamberlain, who would go on to break many scoring records, including scoring 100 points in a single game against the New York Knickerbockers. In 1962, the team would pack up and move to the Bay Area, naming themselves the San Francisco Warriors. After a slow 1960s, the team renamed itself again, this time to the Golden State Warriors. Though the Warriors have seen a great deal of talent go through the franchise recently (Mitch Richmond, Chris Webber, Latrell Spreewell, Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison, Jason Richardson and Baron Davis), they have never been able to push through the playoffs. The closest they have gotten was during the 2006-2007 season in which they defeated the No. 1 seeded Dallas Mavericks but fell to the Utah Jazz in the second round.
